Christmas Musical Delight – Nanban and 3 Christmas Musical Delight – Nanban and 3 Christmas Musical Delight – Nanban and 3

It used to be Bollywood that usually considers Christmas season as the best time to release the films and music. Apparently, the tactic has now passed onto Kollywood as their expansive market across the Hindi speaking territories has increased. To be precise, both the albums ‘Nanban’ and Dhanush starrer ‘3’ is the most expected music for non-Tamil speaking cohorts as they strike closeness with them.

‘3 Idiots’ created sensation for its aesthetic style of making and even songs performed well. The remake version with Vijay and Jeeva in lead role with Shankar wielding megaphone has grabbed everyone’s attention. The audio launch will be held in the concert of Harris Jayaraj at Hindustan College in Coimbatore. It is worth mentioning that major portions of scenes involving college were shot in this campus.

‘Why This Kolaveri?’ doesn’t need any introduction as the song is already the most favorite of masses across the globe. Both Dhanush and his wife Aishwarya are busy planning up for the best way to release the music.

What’s common between these albums is that the music launch will be held on the same day of December 23.

Incisively with the yearend holidays commencing from the same date, it’s gonna be a big treat for the music buffs.

Kamal wants govt funds

Kamal Haasan on Friday requested the Union and State governments to provide funds to improve the digital archival library. "This would help preserve old and rare movies," said the Ulaganayagan at the valedictory of the two-day FICCI media and entertainment digital conclave in Chennai.

Kamal, who is the chairman of the conclave, spoke of the conversion of old films contained in negative film format to digital format by Real Images free of cost. He said that 3,500 old films of different languages (including a few of his films) have been digitized and securely preserved in a one petabyte memory capacity over the last five years.

The digital library was set up by FICCI and has around 3,500 films in all Indian languages. About 1,000 gigabytes of storage space has been created in the last six months. "We have done this with private funds but to enhance the capacity, we need government funds," said Kamal.

Senthil Kumar, co-founder of Qube cinema and a committee member of the FICCI media and entertainment digital conclave, Kiran Reddy, managing director of Sathyam Cinemas and CBFC chairperson Leela Samson also spoke at the event.
